UPDATE 2/TROPICAL DEPRESSION
DATE: 20 MAR 2022 | DAY: SUNDAY
TIME: 1:30PM BST (+6 GMT)


The Well Marked LPA over South West Andaman Sea has further moved on NNE direction and intensified into a TROPICAL DEPRESSION over central Andaman Sea.
Multispectral satellite animation is showing a consolidating LLCC(Low Level Cyclonic Circulation) with improving convective banding.
It is being located about 660km SSW of Yangon, Myanmar.

★Winds(1min avg):-
Average Maximum Wind speed in radius of 50km from the low level center is 45km/h.
Gusting up to 60km/h.

★Forecast:-
The System is under favourable environment due to low VWS, Excellent Outflow & High SST.
Separation of Moisture branch by tomorrow might inhibit any major intensification of this system.

•It could intensify into a Deep Depression within next 24hrs. Then, the consolidation process could be interrupted due to the separation of moisture branch & the weakening trend could start while reaching South West Myanmar coast.
Due to land interaction combined with few unfavorable parameters, It could be weakened into into a Well Marked LPA while crossing Myanmar coast.


★Movement:-
It has moved on NNE direction during past 6hrs with the average speed of 10km/h.
*From the present location, it could move generally northward direction towards Southwestern Myanmar coast.

★Landfall:-
It could cross South West Myanmar coast between Thandwe & Yangon by 22 March 2022(late).

★Warning:-
Southern & Western Myanmar could experience 35 to 55kph winds with gusting up to 65kph between 21-22 March 2022.


★Advisory:-
Fishermen & Small boats are requested to not to venture into the South-East, East Central Bay of Bengal & Andaman Sea during next 3days.
Sea condition could be rough to very rough over the region.

★Rainfall:-
Due to the direct impact of the system, South & South Western Myanmar could be effected by Heavy to Very Heavy rain between 20-23 March 2022.
